The following month, he established new NCAA passing yardage and completions records.
The Houston Texans
Despite his tremendous success in college, Keenum went undrafted in 2012. He ultimately signed with the Houston Texans and spent his entire inaugural season on the team’s practice squad. In his NFL début in October 2013 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Keenum threw his first touchdown pass. His season was disappointing, as evidenced by his 0-8 record as a starter.
In 2014, the Texans released Keenum. He was immediately claimed by the St. Louis Rams but was released a few months later. The year concluded with Keenum re-signing with the Texans and winning his first two NFL games.
