Legrand has launched the Legrand Empowering Scholarship Program as part of its CSR program to support deserving transgender, differently-abled, and female students financially while they seek higher education.
According to this program, academically gifted female students who choose to major in B.Tech, BE, B.Arch., or another graduate degree (in finance or science), such as BSC, BCOM, or BBA, will receive 60% of the annual course fee up to 60,000 INR per year, and students in the special category* will receive 80% of the annual course fee up to 1,00,000 INR per year until the end of their course based on their academic performances.
Advantages of the Legrand Scholarship
- The pupils will receive financial assistance so that they can pursue their bachelor’s degrees at a variety of Indian organizations.
- The candidates awarded the designated scholarships will also receive mentoring.
- The women will be assisted by industry and subject matter experts in the development of future leaders.
- Assistance with internships will be supplied to students in a variety of India locations.
- Scholarship benefits will be awarded until the completion of the course or based on the students’ preferences.
Legrand Scholarship’s Criteria for Eligibility
- This program is designed specifically for females from all around India.
- The candidate must have passed the 12th standard exam in 2021 with a minimum of 75% from a recognized state board or central board.
- Must be admitted to a B.Tech/B.E/B.Arch program at a UGC-recognized college/university in India for the academic year 2021-22.
- The appellants’ household income shall not exceed INR 5 lakh from all sources.
- Applicants must not have received any other scholarship awards.

- Proof of age (Birth Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Class 10 Certificate of Completion)
- Tenth grade grade summary
- Class 12 transcript
- Family income certificate or Form 16 of parents/last six months’ bank statements
- Size of a passport photograph

- Admission evidence or college/university fee receipt

The Selection Procedure For the Legrand Scholarship
There are two types of pupils to whom the money will be distributed:
1. All excellent and worthy female students in general.
- Scholarship grant amount- 60% of the course tuition up to a maximum of 60,000/- (whichever is less) every year till the course is completed.
2. Special Category: differently abled female pupils, transgender students, single-parent students, and students who lost their parents as a result of COVID-19.
- Scholarship grant amount- 80% of the course price up to a maximum of Rs. 1,000,000/- (whichever is less) every year till the course is completed.
After submitting the required documents (relevant fee receipts/college bonafide certificate/previous year mark sheet and bank proofs) through Legrand’s implementation partner, Buddy4Study (as per the payment cycle communicated), the eligible scholarship amount will be disbursed to the student’s given Indian account number each year.
