Episode 10 Recap
A week had passed since the previous episode of Rurouni Kenshin, and both Team Kenshin and the Oniwabanshu had fully recovered from their injuries. The episode started with Team Kenshin, excluding Sanosuke, eating breakfast together. Their reunion was cut short when Sanosuke returned with a chilly attitude towards Megumi Takani.
Later, Megumi ran across Han’nya, who was disguised. Han’nya arranged for Megumi and Kanryu Takeda to meet. Kanryu threatened the deaths of everyone on Team Kenshin if Megumi would not return to him freely during the meeting. Megumi consented, feeling trapped, and left a letter for Team Kenshin, stating she had gone home to Aizu. Team Kenshin, on the other hand, saw right through her lie.
Kenshin, Sanosuke, and Yahiko immediately headed off towards Kanryu’s house in order to save Megumi. Kanryu threatened Megumi with torture if she would not actively engage in the Spiderweb refining process at the mansion. Megumi injured Kanryu with a knife before Aoshi Shinomori intervened, which was a shocking turn of events.
Meanwhile, despite Kanryu’s notion that they would have no cause to pursue Megumi, Team Kenshin arrived at the mansion. Kanryu ordered Aoshi to transport Megumi to the third level and hold her captive there. As the episode came to a close, Han’nya ran into Team Kenshin downstairs, setting the atmosphere for a heated showdown.
