Is There a Secret Invasion Season 2 Release Date?
No, there are no plans for a second season of Secret Invasion after its conclusion on July 26, 2023. Nonetheless, if Season 1’s viewership numbers are high, things could alter after the finale.
The Marvel miniseries Secret Invasion has been announced for Disney Plus. Therefore, it is highly probable that we will not receive a second season. However, the conflict with the Skrulls has not yet been entirely resolved, as thousands still walk among humans. G’iah plans to capture them with the assistance of Sonya Falsworth.

Nick Fury also mentioned talks of a peace summit between the Kree and the Skrulls to end their conflict. Thus, the Skrulls may be able to relocate to a new planet after all. But before that, there are two methods to approach the future:
1) G’iah continues to command the war between humans and Skrulls in the second season of Secret Invasion.
2) Marvel uses The Marvels to effectively sign a peace treaty between the Kree and Skrulls and to end the human-Skrull conflict behind the scenes by bringing the Kree and Skrulls to an agreement.
The premise of Secret Invasion could also be continued in other forthcoming MCU titles. G’iah-like figures could command them from the front. The Marvels and other future Disney Plus initiatives could serve as sequels to Secret Invasion, similar to how Agatha: Coven of Chaos will serve as a sequel to WandaVision.

Secret Invasion Season 2 Cast: Who Could Return?
Although the MCU is notorious for murdering off major characters, Secret Invasion was not Nick Fury’s final appearance, as we already knew from The Marvels marketing prior to the release of Secret Invasion. Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos and Cobie Smulders’ Agent Maria Hill were irrevocably eliminated from the MCU. Gravik, portrayed by Kingsley Ben-Adir, also appeared to perish, though it remains unclear how this was even possible given his capabilities.

Consequently, the ensemble of Secret Invasion season 2 could include the following characters:
- G’iah by Emilia Clarke
- Sonya Falsworth — Olivia Colman
- Harrison Ford is President Ross, succeeding Dermot Mulroney as President Ritson.
There is also the possibility that Agent Ross (Martin Freeman) and James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) could return to investigate how and when they were supplanted by Skrulls. Rhodey has Armor Wars to investigate these repercussions, but Agent Ross’ MCU future is uncertain. It is absurd to believe that the MCU would simply ignore the narrative in some way. If only the One Shots were still available to fill in these spaces. Or related comics. Or literally anything that was not a $200 million series and did not validate its existence.
Ironically, Nick Fury’s return to Secret Invasion season 2 may not be necessary if it occurs. The majority of the Skrull saga has moved on from him, leaving only the issue of whether he will be held accountable for the Avengers DNA project, since the heroes involved are unlikely to be pleased to discover he stole their DNA. However, Fury is elastic, and nothing seems to stick, so perhaps the MCU will simply proceed on in silence.
